48 Zjazd Fizyków Polskich - Konferencja - BRIDGE of Knowledge

Informal Physical Societies Exchange Conference (IPSEC) to wydarzenie organizowane co dwa lata w ramach Zjazdu Fizyków Polskich przez Polskie Towarzystwo Fizyczne. Pierwsze z nich odbyło się podczas XXXIV Zjazdu Fizyków Polskich w 1997 roku w Katowicach. Wydarzenie to zgromadziło przedstawicieli siedmiu towarzystw krajowych - z Czech, Niemiec, Wielkiej Brytanii, Węgier, Polski, Słowacji i Ukrainy - oraz Europejskiego Towarzystwa Fizycznego. Pomysł zorganizowania IPSEC wynikał ze zmian w towarzystwach naukowych spowodowanych transformacją systemu politycznego w krajach Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej: grupy zyskały swobodę w swojej działalności, ale straciły znaczną część swoich wkładów finansowych i innych rodzajów wsparcia rządowego. Wielką zaletą IPSEC jest jego nieformalny charakter, który pozwala na dyskusję nad kwestiami, których nie można poruszyć podczas oficjalnych spotkań.

Tematem tegorocznego spotkania będzie zjawisko czasopism drapieżnych (predatory journals), jego przyczyny i konsekwencje dla rozwoju badań zwłaszcza w naukach fizycznych.
